Memories and Eyelashes.

One day in fifth grade, my teacher was explaining to us the function of eyelashes. She explained that eye lashes were meant to keep things out of our eyes. I raised my hand and asked if eyelashes were meant to keep things out of our eyes, why didn't they keep eyelashes out of our eyes. She said she didn't know the answer to my question.

I wonder what happened to that inquisitive and too-clever-for-her-own-good girl.

I also wonder why I even remember that moment while so much of my childhood is a blur.

Summer In Georgia

It's summer time again in Georgia. Okay, so it never really wasn't summer time but there is a magical period of time when the insect population is at a minimum and there is an comfortable peace in the outside world. But with the warmer weather comes more and more invasive creatures that make Georgia the state it is.

Roaches:
These creatures love roaming in large numbers and assaulting innocent victims as they make their way to the dumpsters.

The clearly have the shakes and the crazy eyes of a trash addict.

Moths:
The size and aggression of these creatures were clear inspirations for mothra. And much to my dismay, they love long, messy hair.

Spiders:
These creatures range from small to gigantic. Often they dominate an area, like my front door, threatening to kill me if I attempt to pass them.

Owls:
These guys aren't scary or too bothersome, but the do like to sit outside my window being very invasive.

My sister Cecy and I were talking a while back and our discussion turned onto the topic of grapefruit. Both of us hate grapefruit and quickly the discussion became a competition to see who really hated grapefruit more. Let's just say, I'd do anything to be the winner.

Once More With Feeling...

So yeah, I've been slacking hard these past couple of months. I guess I just didn't think I had anything good to say on here anymore. But as much as I might feel "meh" about everything, the ideas for this blog don't really stop. So I'm back and trying again to do this blog justice. For a while it'll probably just be comics because they are easier to make than long posts but it's better than nothing. I really don't want to see the blog die due to lack of use so I guess I'll do the best with what I've got for now.

Happy Belated President’s Day

I know this post is late, but it was an idea I had been working on, so I figured better late than never.

President’s day is celebrated in America as a day to honor all of our amazing and admirable leaders and by that I mean we just sit around talking about how great Lincoln was.

Speaking of Lincoln, there are two new films coming out that are clearly factual and starring none other than Lincoln, himself. Okay, actors are portraying him, but close enough. My question for you, which of these Lincolns on the big screen is your favorite?

Benjamin Walker as Lincoln in the future film: Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter:

Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln in the future film: Lincoln (directed by Steven Spielberg – yes this matters in your decision making process):

Or Henry Fonda’s portrayal of young Lincoln in John Ford’s  Young Mr. Lincoln:

Okay, so that’s not a future film but an old film. Frankly though, look at this guy, he’s got Lincoln spot-on:

Well I guess it’s clear which one is my favorite…or at least until I see the other films.

A little while back, I looked out my bedroom window and noticed a tent in the woods behind my apartment complex.
(The tent in the woods behind my place.)
The presence of the tent was a curiosity for a while until my friends set me straight:
